long time

wow, a long time has gone by since i blogged last... a month? i think that i'm going to have to quit the goals group. i just seem to have 24 hours in a day but 29 hours of stuff to do! all my time just seems to dissappear. plus school is getting pretty busy. the final hard copy of the Freshman project is due on friday. then theres spring break and end of 3rd quarter. i can't believe that school is so close to being done. theres only 3 months left: april, may and june.
track has been going pretty good... the coaches don't really work us as hard as i would like though. i'm not getting better, granted we've only had 2 meets, if i'm going to meet my goal of a 27 second 200 then i'm probably going to have to work harder on my own. my dad just ahd his birthday and for it he got the P90X exercise system. he says that its amazing and it "kicks my butt" everyday, but he loves it. i was hoping to try the plyometrics segment of it over spring break, when he tried it he said that it was so hard that he could only do 28 out of 57 minutes of it and that he felt like jello after. i'm super excited!
right now i'm also making my first baby-sized shag quilt. i picked all the fabric, cut it, am going to sew and cut it too.

on the topic of babies, i finally met the first person my age that shared my excitement for the motherhood stage of life. i think that pregnant women are beautiful and babies are so adorable and a bundle of joy. though i sound naive, i fully understand the extra little things that come with a baby, like getting up 5 times a night to feed and rock it, to change nasty diapers, colicy-ness, being sick etc. i know that its hard, but i also know that it will be SO worth it and i am very looking forward to that phase of my life. all of my babysitting experience and mothers helping/ shadowing has given me a little peek into what its like. which another thing - i'm so thankful for the influx of babysitting jobs! i'm finally going to get out of debt!
anyways, so much is going on. i'll have to get you the details later
have a wonderful sunny sunday!

hills

Today track was great! we had to sprint (or atleast attempt to sprint ;) highpoint hill 5 times, up and down. yeah, during the exercise we were all totally out of breath, our legs were taut and on the brink of giving out and we felt nauseaus (sp?) but it was well worth it for the endorphin rush that quickly followed. thats the reason i think i like track so much better than last years track. this year they push you harder, theres more of an expectation and you push yourself and you pass the line of real workout. last year it was so lax and you did exercise, but you never really passed the full exhaustion limit which is imperative for the rush you get after. last year we just toed the line and felt sick because we didn't get in shape enough to enjoy the benefits of a real workout.

the endorphins were fantabulous, but i think i'm getting shin splints. other than that my life is still going pretty great. we got new goal partners and the way that they have everything organized really is motivating, to keep up with them, even though i didn't really do that great today. atleast this was one of my goals, so i atleast am doing something worthwhile here.
anyways, thats pretty much all for now
have a fantastic friday (The BEST day of the week!!!)

Kentwoods Orchestra = amazingness

tonight was the strings festival where the elementary, middles school and highschool orchestras came together to show off their stuff. the little kids were cute, but not impressive, you could tell that they had just started playing. then the middle school orchestras and so on, you could tell as the age went up, so did the skill level. i was really impressed by kentwoods orchestra. they did amazingly well, and their octet was gorgeous too, even though it was on the longer side (almost 10 minutes) and the teachers played as well. they played the music of the night from the Phantom of the Opera and another one that was pretty peppy. the concert was really fun and the bonus part was that special someone was there. and he played really good. i didn't go just for that kid though... i'm not that stalkerish, my little sister was in the 6th grade orch. super fun night and lots of great music!

then there track. we had a really good workout and i'm hoping that i'll actually sleep all the way through the night tonight. we did a downwards ladder - 450, 350, 250, 150, 150, 250, 350, 450. it was really good and i didn't feel like i was going to upchuck it once! and i didn't slack either. even though i virtually did nothing to prepare for the season, i'm in relatively (sp?) good shape. anyways. i really love track and am, for once, very satisfied with my life and where its going. hopefully this feeling lasts... or i get more endorphins tommorrow :)
have a thuper thursday!

Track

so, its been a long time since i wrote last. track started last monday and i was REALLY nervous for it, but it turns out that it is really fun and a great no stress workout. and the bonus is my "crush" (haha, sounds so dumb :)) does track too, so i get to see him everyday and he gets to see me all sweaty dirty nasty feeling like, on a few occasions, like i'm going to fall over. he makes me try harder though, like the whole impress him thing, which also sounds so girlyish, but its true. hes a cutie and SOMEDAY we'll be friends, i just first have to get him to notice that i exsist... oh well
have a great monday!
